Career Metamorphosis: The MERAKI Effect

On deep diving I understood that her job served the needs & wants in her life, but what about her desires? Further, she clearly laid out the following

Needs
–      Financial independence & ability to take care of her & her family members needs
Wants
–      A professional identity while growing in her career & playing a role that gave her a great social status
Desires
–      To be able to do the work that’s in alignment with what she really wants & not only what she is expected to do
–      Connect & grow with people who have a similar passion as hers
–      Get rewarded and recognized well for her thought leadership, skills & contribution

“When all my needs, wants & desires will get satisfied, I will feel powerful”, was another statement that came from her.

Yet again, MERAKI cards were leveraged as they added a flavor of fun & mysticism. The cards she picked (refer the image below) gave her clues to reflect.

A few minutes after looking at the cards, there was an aha moment. “I think I am already powerful; I have my needs and wants fulfilled. I need to realise that, acknowledge that & be grateful for that. That is the first step to take my career to the next level”. She further started thinking who is stopping her. Maybe it’s just her own narratives that keep on playing in her head.

The conversation turned into a constructive one as she started to feel like a Director and a co-creator of her life. All she needed was to be agile. In fact, in just a few moments she started to think how her lack of agility was making her feel stuck, powerless & sometime helpless.

She clearly started to notice
–      On the being front – How she could be more grateful and that would increase her power to manifest
–      On the doing front – How her fixed mindset was slowing her growth and the steps she could take to fix that
–      On the having front – How having some courageous conversations, better support systems could take her forward

Not just that, the discussion moved forward to enable her think which all other areas of life she could be more grateful about, yet courageous and agile.

As she concluded saying “My mantra in life from now is to be agile and not fragile”, I kept silently listening to her and admiring at the beauty of our brains, the power of reflective conversations & the role of mysticism in growth & transformation.

Are you looking to reach goals in any area of life or enable others do that. MERAKI can help in miraculous ways.
